Traded Light

by

I borrowed your moon
in exchange for my sun
I let you use my light
while I crawled in the dark
As the moon left
I waited until the sun
came back to my side
over and over again
I traded my light
Got attracted to the dark —
I was lost in oblivion
Until the light struck
my blinded eyes thrice
You fooled me once
You fooled me twice
Now I came to realize
You may be beautiful in my eyes
But this would be the last time
I am not letting you take away
the only light that gives me life.
